Levigator

(Showing 2 of 2)
Professional Hand Operated Levigator for Stone Lithography The Takach Hand Operated Levigator is the industry standard for graining and preparing limestone for stone lithography. Designed for both durability and ease of use, this essential tool allows printmakers to remove previous images and create a delicate "grain" (topography of peaks and valleys) necessary for oil-based drawing materials and inks to adhere correctly.

Precision Engineering for Better Prints

An uneven litho stone is the enemy of a clean print. Our levigator features a heavy-duty design that promotes balanced wear and consistent pressure.

  • Dual-Boss System: Two stainless steel bosses are welded to the disc, allowing you to swap the handle and counterweight.

  • Ergonomic Handle: A free-rotating plastic handle reduces friction, preventing blisters during long graining sessions in wet environments.

  • Counterweight Advantage: The multi-purpose counterweight provides both rotational and downward force, counteracting the operator's push for a more efficient, smoother rotation.
