Dry Points / Scribes

(Showing 6 of 6)
Edward C. Lyons dry point scribes are effective and very versatile tools used as an etching needle or drypoint scribe.
  • Scribe: By marking through a layer of protective grounds, the etching needle exposes the metal plate to an etchant resulting in areas that will etch.
  • Drypoint: Drypoint marks adds detail or tone of a linear burr type. This mark is made by dragging or drawing the point or needle over the plate. This drypoint mark has a blurred effect when printed.
